DEVELOPING THE PLAYER
At Elite Football Coaching, all sessions are professionally designed & delivered to offer a player focused approach & develop players on an individual basis, while allowing them to progress at their own speed in a low pressure but testing environment.
Elite Football Coaching's sessions promote a holistic approach based upon the FA’s four-corner model for long- term player development
The FA four corner model encompasses four key attributes that are vital for any developing young footballer:
Physical, Technical, Psychological & Social elements
(Under 7 to Under 11)
This is the age of ‘ball mastery’ and developing individual technique.
During the Foundation Phase, our sessions are designed & delivered with a heavy focus on individual player development with players encouraged to be exciting & positive in possession.
Our goal is to ensure that the players have fun and enjoy their footballing experience.
We want all of our players to be technically proficient and to be able to beat an opponent with clever play. A trick, a step over, with ‘disguise’ or with speed and agility.
In this development phase it is our philosophy to rotate the players playing positions and we try to develop the players so that they are comfortable playing in every position and so that they develop a rounded knowledge and understanding.
We encourage the players to problem solve.
If they get tackled when they are dribbling then they will work out for themselves whether to pass or dribble next time and how best to get past their opponent in each situation.
FOUNDATION PHASE PHILOSOPHY
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PHASE
(Under 12 to Under 16)
During the Youth Development Phase, our sessions still follow all of the principles of the
Foundation Phase but all incorporate much more tactical play, teamwork & positional play.
Allowing players to develop a fuller understanding of the game.

SMALL SIDED GAMES
At Elite Football Coaching we believe that players learn the most when they have a ball at their feet.
Because of this, many of our sessions incorporate lots os small sided games.
Statistics back up the benefits of small-sided football compared with 11- a-side football.
Some of these statistics show that:
Players touch the ball five times more often in 4-a-side football and 50% more in 7-a-side
Players are three times more often in one-against-one situations in 4-a-side football and twice more often in 7-a-side
Goals are scored every two minutes in 4-a-side football on average and every four minutes in 7-a-side
The ball is out of play 8% of the time in 4-a-side football, 14% in 7- a-side and 34% in 11-a-side
